Our client is a US-based brand manufacturer of large venue and AV conferencing loudspeaker systems who are seeking a Principal Acoustic Engineer.
This is an opportunity to work for a leading brand and manufacturer of loudspeaker systems, joining an established R&D engineering team developing innovative, high performance solutions. Our client has a longstanding reputation for pioneering loudspeaker technology and provide high-quality products for the AV and professional live sound industries.
About the Role
As Principal Acoustic Engineer you will design, develop and prototype high performance loudspeaker systems taking them from initial concept through to handover into manufacturing. You will be delivering market leading products based on the evaluation of competitor products and assessment of new technologies relating to acoustics and loudspeakers. Responsibilities will also include performing critical listening tests, mentoring of junior team members and the preparation of technical documentation.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Acoustics, Physics or a related subject, with preferably a further degree in Acoustics or Electro-Acoustics.
- A track record of designing large scale, high power loudspeaker systems which have become successful and proven products.
- Knowledge and skills in transducer and loudspeaker system design, ideally applied to outdoor applications.
- Knowledge and skills in loudspeaker design methodologies including associated modelling methods, loudspeaker measurement techniques, and advanced audio DSP.
In order to be successful in this role you will need to be a team player with great communication skills and happy to mentor less-experienced engineers in order to achieve the team’s overall objective of developing great new audio products.
