5G and streaming tech likely to dominate at IBC 2019

Just as soon as we are back from our summer holidays, the media & entertainment tech exhibition circuit kicks off again with IBC in Amsterdam. As is now de rigeur for media tech shows, IBC is a combined exhibition and conference, with exhibitors and speakers from a host of industry leaders. A big area of focus this year is likely to be how consumer consumption habits will change as 5G availability actually rolls out, especially with heavyweight competition taking off in streaming services, as Disney, Apple and others enter the arena.

 

The IBC Exhibition itself includes specially curated feature areas and events, which provide the perfect platform for you to network and build relationships with suppliers and customers, and discover the latest trends and technologies. IBC showcases the best in production, broadcast and distribution tech, and the 1700+ exhibitors include big names such as AWS, BBC, Huawei, Shure, Sony and Verizon.

The exhibition is housed in fifteen exhibition halls at RAI Amsterdam, which are individually themed, and include a host of feature areas specially designed to enhance visitors’ experience.

The IBC conference features an outstanding line-up of 300+ speakers. This year, in recognition of the huge growth and diversification within the media tech industry, the conference has been divided into 5 ‘tracks’, each of which includes a full programme of talks and discussions:

From Lounge Talks exploring diversity and sustainability in media and entertainment, to Tech Talks taking a deep dive into the latest tech trends and innovations; and from big-hitting Executives giving exclusive business insights, to global YouTube stars revealing the consumption habits of the next generation – the IBC Conference includes content to appeal to everyone in the industry.

Don’t forget that RAI is a huge venue, so when visiting the show, make sure you do your prep on stand locations, and plan your visit carefully. Be prepared for a lot of walking, and wear comfy shoes!
